Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 2-10-2 Class M-2 6146 at Fort Collins, Colorado,, date and photographer unknown, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 6146 was built by Baldwin in March 1919 ( c/n 51604 ) and retired in December 1953. This locomotive shows on the CB&Q Lcomotive Assignment Sheet ( LAS ) dated December 1, 1944 as leased to the C&S, which would explain its presence in Fort Collins. It does not show as leased on the June 1, 1950 LAS, rather it shows assigned to the Alliance Division. So this might narrow down the date of this photo between 1944 and 1950. |
