Beautiful CP Rwy publicitiy photo taken shortly after being built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in November of 1930. Note the side smoke detectors that were eventually removed but while on the loco, it gave it a distinctive European styling. Specs - serial #68532, class H1b, 75" drivers, 275 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 351,200 lb, tractive effort of 45,254 lb. The loco was retired in December of 1958, 28 years after this initial photo was taken. |
