Description:  596 passes a broken crossing gate on University Parkway. If you look closely at the far crossing, you can see one of the gates snapped in half. Most likely was a screw that jointed the two sections together came loose. An SGLR work crew fixed the gate later that day.

Description:  On the way back north, the 596 was leading and the train stopped just north of the Myrtle Street crossing so 579 could spot a covered hopper on the industry track. This may have been the first time the spur has been used since the SGLR rejuvenated it!
