Title:  PRR 9615, AF-16, 1952
Description:  Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1952 ~ 68 years ago today! Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9615 and two more units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9615 is an AF-16 built in May of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. They are about to pass under the 12th Street Footbridge after descending the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve with a mixed-cargo freight train. Visible at the right are the ancient train shed at the Altoona Passenger Station and a GM-EMD GP-7 waiting for its next passenger helper run up "The Mountain." ("Stoneborobranch"; #1 of 20)
