ADM GP10 7596
Description:
Archer-Daniels-Midland Co. GP10 7596 was at their grain elevator at Reserve, Louisiana. This is along the Mississippi River and the Canadian National between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The locomotive had been built as Pennsylvania 7261 in November 1959 under EMD serial no. 24313. It was subsequently Penn Central 7261 and then Conrail 7261, and was remanufactured by the Illinois Central Gulf’s PADUCAH SHOPS into Conrail GP10 7596 in 1978. Conrail retired it on 30 October 1995 and it eventually went to ADM, and was subsequently sold to Railserve (RSSX) in 2016. Notice that there were no steps at the other end of the locomotive!
