Switching cars at the southend of Savannah Yard at Blossum Jct...Savannah, Georgia. Looking north, the newer trackage swings to the left while the old mainline continues straight. SAL's new Savannah Yard was completed in the 1950s. The old mainline was cut off in the 1970s when a new Highway was built. Part of the old mainline was used for Car storage for a number of years. My friend John Parker is visiting and his Buick Century...the "Lead Sled" is our official "Train Chase Vehicle!!!" Now I have one!!! |
