Built in March 1943 as AT&SF NW2 2366, it was renumbered to 2416 on May 17, 1945, renumbered again to 1416 on August 22, 1974. It was rebuild at the San Bernardino shops, (hence SSB for Switcher, San Bernardino) completed December 29, 1978, and traded to Amtrak on September 10, 1984 for a SDP40F, becoming AMTK 551. |
