NOPB Baldwin S12d
Title:  NOPB Baldwin S12d
Description:  NOPB 61, Baldwin S12, sn 76120, at engine yard off Tchoupitoulas. The NOPB began repainting their switchers to a red scheme in 1971, about the same time the remaining Baldwin diesels were retired. Engine 62, likely was the only Baldwin repainted to red and was sold to Cargill in June 1975.

NOPB S12 61
Title:  NOPB S12 61
Description:  New Orleans Public Belt S12 61 was the only NOPB Baldwin ever repainted in the red paint scheme introduced in 1971, and it was hardly ever used afterwards. Here it was at the railroad's engine terminal, about two and a half years before being sold to Cargill for use at their Terre Haute elevator in Reserve, Louisiana. (approximate date of photo)

Cargill Baldwins
Title:  Cargill Baldwins
Description:  These Baldwin S12's were at Cargill's Terre Haute elevator, along the Mississippi River at Reserve, Louisiana. The locomotives were originally New Orleans Public Belt 61 and 62, although the black unit wears the number of its previous owner, Avondale Shipyard. Constructed in December 1955, these were some of the very last locomotives built by Baldwin. The elevator was served by the Illinois Central Gulf, and now the Canadian National.
