Album Info:Work has begun in earnest on the track through downtown Akron. It will be lowered and the old B&O passenger platform and covered shelter are soon to be removed. The covered, elevated walkway will receive a new support. It was once the connection to Greyhound and B&O depots. The stairs to track level have long ago been removed. All this work is being done so that CSX can run double stacks on the New Castle Sub-Division.

Description:  Currently a crew is building temporary crossings across both tracks so that equipment can cross over them. The concrete passenger platform is to be removed and naturally, the cover will go by the wayside too. At the very left of the image, the support for the covered walkway will be replaced too. Both rails will also be lowered.
