The depot was part of a 30 year plan to relocate the Coast Line away from the historic area of San Jose, replacing the Market Street Depot. In the 1990s, the depot was restored, complete with a platform for the VTA light rail system. The depot was renamed to Diridon Station, named after Rod Diridon, Santa Clara County Supervisorand founder of the California Trolley & Railroad Corporation, which has preserved and restored several historic streetcars. |
